SENSEI MATTHEW SCOTT BROWN / SAN-DAN – 3rd DEGREE BLACK BELT - U.S.E.W.K.F. 18-29 BLACK BELT KUMITE CHAMPION -HEAVYWEIGHT TOUGHMAN BOXING CHAMPION / / UCC 205# MMA CHAMPION

 

Born in 1987, Sensei Brown began martial arts training in 1993 at Bushido Dojo in Madison, Tennessee. He was a successful competitor as a youth in both kata and kumite. As a small child, he was a Gold Medalist in Karate at Tennessee Sportsfest and won the kata divison several years running at the Annual United States Eastern Wado Ryu Karate-Do Federation Tournament . Later, as an adult he successfully competed in the Tennessee Police & Fire Games.

 

He has won numerous non-tournament TOUGHMAN type boxing events as well as five heavyweight toughman boxing championships in Mississippi in 2009 & 2010 & 2011. His amateur full contact record in Boxing, Muay Thai, and Kickboxing Events is 50-4. He was awarded the UCC 205# MMA Championship Belt. In amateur grapping it is 9-0 and in 2014 winning the Advanced Division Grappling Belt at Tournament of Champions in Bowling Green Ky. He is currently 1-0 Boxing @ 199 # and 1-1 MMA @ 210 as a Professional.

 

He has served the Davidson County Sheriff's Office since 2014. As a part-time college student, he has “worked the door” at several downtown locations providing security for owners and patrons. Throughout his childhood and youth, he was a successful competitor in baseball, football, and wrestling finishing his Junior year as the TSSAA 215# state champion runner-up losing in sudden-death overtime. He is a constant winner of the 18 - 29 year old Black Belt Heavyweight Division and Open Kumite Division at the Annual United States Eastern Wado Ryu Karate Federation Tournament and as the Black Belt member of the Mixed Team Champions has defeated nearly all opponents.
